GRAND CONSEIL 2023
Edmonton, Alberta
September 14 - 16
Edmonton looks forward to welcoming the delegates of the Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin to the Grand Conseil.
Edmonton is a vibrant urban centre in the heart of the wilderness,
the largest northernmost metropolis and the capital of Alberta. The city serves up the perfect blend of big city vibes and exhilarating outdoor adventure. With countless festivals and an endless list of attractions, Edmonton is the perfect place to make memories in Western Canada.
The 2023 Grand Conseil, which is intended as Tastevin’s premier social event of the year, is happening in Edmonton, September 14-16. Beginning with a lunch and pairing with the extraordinary cuisine prepared by our Canadian Culinary Championship team we are celebrating several wine themes capturing the unique French Burgundies sourced by the Edmonton Sous Commanderie. Our offering which reflects a 15+ year history of our Chevaliers numerous travels to Burgundy is celebrating what we have learned in the process; creating our unique wine buying relationships. Stepping away from the traditional focus on the famous and well-known wine labels, ‘Burgundy on the Edges,’ will see us snoop around the less exalted edges of the region, where prices are lower and wine quality is exceptional. Edmonton’s Favorite Burgundy Producers will introduce you to some special Burgundy wine makers who are generally less available or visible in Canada – in short, they have become our “favourites.”
We are looking forward to welcoming you to Edmonton’s historic Fairmont Hotel Macdonald and its commanding river valley views and to our members’ homes for the dine-around dinners. Since you are in the area, we highly recommend you consider staying in Alberta or Western Canada before or after the Grand Conseil. The early autumn is beautiful here, and the Canadian Rockies are calling your name.
