Private Class - Learn to make French Macarons
Duchess Bake Shop is a world class bakery offering the perfect blend of classic French pastries and Alberta favorites. In 2015, BuzzFeed named Duchess as the #4 bakery in the world. Join us for a French macaron private class at the Atelier, where we will learn to make the biggest seller from Duchess, learn their best tips & tricks for turning out great macarons, as well as their most popular salted caramel filling.
This class is limited to 12 participants.
Discover the Pyramids
One of Canada’s largest indoor botanical collections, the Muttart Conservatory is in the heart of the city. Designed by renowned Edmonton architect, Peter Hemingway, the Muttart consists of 4 large glass pyramids (over 20,000 sq. ft), which house 700 species of plants in 3 climate-controlled biomes, and a feature pyramid, which will display “Orchids Through Time” when we visit. This tour is limited to 20 participants.
Friday Lunch
Join us for a locally sourced meal created by award-winning chef Serge Belair, as you enjoy the unparalleled vistas of the North Saskatchewan River Valley, from the patio at the Edmonton Convention Centre. The river valley, considered the jewel of Edmonton, is 22 times larger than New York City’s Central Park, and is North America’s largest stretch of urban parkland. To complement your meal, you will enjoy tasting some of the Edmonton Chevalier’s favorite wine producers.
Friday Dine Around
Edmonton Chevaliers will welcome you into their homes, and you will share an intimate dinner and fabulous wines. Limos/vans will depart the Hotel Macdonald.
ICE District Tour - Downtown Revitalization
For more than a decade, city centers across North America have been focusing on downtown revitalization. In Edmonton, Daryl Katz and the Oilers Entertainment Group, as well as the mayor and city council at the time, created a vision in the Edmonton ICE District. This was realized in 2019, where it is centered around the new, state of the art Rogers Place Arena, home of the Edmonton Oilers. Join us for a tour of the arena and surrounding ICE District, hear from the OEG ownership group about their vision, the impact of the pandemic on that vision, the impact of the ICE district on the pandemic, and what might be done in the present and future to achieve their ultimate vision. We will also hear about the drivers involved in running a vibrant sports franchise, like new arena science and associated revenues that drive success. We may even get to see where Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl hang out most of that time.
Please sign up for the tour now, but not later than September 1, by emailing gc2023edmonton@gmail.com

Saturday Lunch
Post ICE District tour, we adjourn to Braven, within the JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District. In the restaurant, located on the main floor, we will present two events in one. You will begin with a tasting featuring the wines of four villages on the edges of Burgundy, which are not well known but produce excellent wines. Hosted by couples from the Edmonton Chevalier, four village tasting stations will be presented, which you are encouraged to visit and pick your favorite to enjoy during the second event – Lunch. Braven Restaurant, which merges unfussy old-school sensibilities with modern grace and style, has prepared a buffet menu to showcase an Alberta heritage culinary experience, featuring a mix of traditional Ukrainian foods and more well-known Alberta dishes.
